FAR2 (Fatty Acyl-CoA Reductase 2) is a peroxisomal membrane-associated enzyme that catalyzes the NADPH-dependent reduction of fatty acyl-CoA substrates into fatty alcohols, a committed step in ether lipid and wax ester biosynthesis. Antibodies.com supplies this target as an unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antiserum, raised against the human protein and validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human samples. The reagent is provided as 100 µl in a vial, ready to dilute into standard chemiluminescent WB protocols or deparaffinized IHC workflows. It recognizes endogenous human FAR2 and supports studies of peroxisomal lipid metabolism, ether phospholipid synthesis, and the molecular basis of FAR2-linked phenotypes such as intellectual disability and metabolic dysfunction. Because the antibody is polyclonal and unconjugated, it can be paired with HRP-, biotin-, or fluorophore-labeled secondary reagents for flexible detection in immunoblotting, immunofluorescence, or chromogenic tissue staining applications.
