This polyclonal primary antibody targets FANCD2, a central effector of the Fanconi anemia (FA) DNA repair pathway that is monoubiquitinated at Lysine 561 in response to interstrand cross-link damage and replication stress. Produced in rabbit and affinity-purified, the unconjugated reagent is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a 100 µl vial, with a recommended storage temperature of -20 °C and minimal freeze-thaw cycles.

Validated by Antibodies.com for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence, the reagent shows reactivity with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, supporting studies of genome stability, BRCA1-dependent DNA damage signalling, and the cellular response to cross-linking agents such as mitomycin C and cisplatin. Researchers commonly use FANCD2 antibodies to monitor nuclear focus assembly at sites of DNA damage, assess pathway integrity in FA patient-derived cell lines, and explore synthetic-lethal interactions in oncology research.

The polyclonal format recognises multiple epitopes on the FANCD2 protein, which is useful for detecting both unmodified and monoubiquitinated species on Western blot. Store the vial frozen in single-use aliquots and protect from light to preserve antibody activity over multiple experiments.
