Focal Adhesion Kinase (FAK, also known as PTK2) is a non-receptor protein tyrosine kinase that localizes to integrin-based adhesion complexes and couples extracellular matrix cues to cytoskeletal remodeling, survival signaling, and directed cell migration. Site-specific reagents such as the rabbit polyclonal antibody offered by Antibodies.com against the P906 epitope allow researchers to track FAK phosphorylation state alongside total protein levels in cell-based experiments. The reagent is supplied unconjugated as a 50 µl liquid aliquot at approximately 1 mg/ml in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS, pH ~7.2) with 0.05% sodium azide as a preservative, which is compatible with both chemiluminescent and fluorescent western blot workflows after pairing with an HRP- or fluorophore-labeled secondary antibody.

Validated applications include western blot for resolving total or site-specific FAK bands from human, mouse, and rat lysates, and immunohistochemistry on fixed tissue sections, where the rabbit host and unconjugated format give labs flexibility to match their own detection chemistry. Because the antibody is purified from rabbit serum rather than a monoclonal product, each preparation contains a polyclonal mix that can tolerate minor variation around the P906 site. Short-term refrigerated storage in the supplied buffer is acceptable for active use; for longer-term stability, researchers should aliquot the 1 mg/ml stock and freeze to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles that can degrade antibody activity.
