Focal Adhesion Kinase (FAK), also called Protein Tyrosine Kinase 2 (PTK2), is a ~125 kDa non-receptor cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase that concentrates at focal adhesions where integrins link the extracellular matrix to the actin cytoskeleton. Antibodies.com supplies this anti-FAK reagent as a rabbit polyclonal antibody produced for research applications in cell adhesion, migration, and mechanotransduction studies.

Provided as an unconjugated preparation in a 100 µl vial, the antibody is validated for western blot (WB), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and ELISA workflows and has been tested for reactivity against human, mouse, and rat samples. This broad species coverage makes it useful for projects that combine patient-derived material, rodent disease models, and standard laboratory cell lines.

FAK integrates biochemical and mechanical cues from integrin engagement and growth factor signaling, and phosphorylation at tyrosine 397 is widely used as a marker of kinase activation in cancer cell invasion, angiogenesis, and tissue fibrosis research. The reagent can be used to monitor total FAK expression, or, when paired with phospho-specific detection, activation-associated epitopes in cell lysates and fixed tissue sections.

For handling, refrigerate on receipt; for extended storage, aliquot and freeze to limit freeze-thaw cycles and protect from light. Intended for research use only.
