Focal Adhesion Kinase (FAK), encoded by the PTK2 gene, is a 125 kDa non-receptor protein tyrosine kinase that localises to focal adhesion complexes and transduces integrin- and growth-factor-driven cues controlling cell adhesion, migration, proliferation, and survival. The Antibodies.com anti-FAK polyclonal reagent is raised in rabbit and supplied unconjugated as a 100 µl liquid aliquot suitable for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and ELISA workflows against human, mouse, and rat sample backgrounds. Because FAK autophosphorylation at Tyr397 is a hallmark of integrin engagement and is frequently elevated in metastatic tumours, this antibody is widely used to profile focal adhesion signalling, cytoskeletal remodelling, mechanotransduction, and oncogenic transformation in cultured cells and tissue sections. The format is a single-use vial that should be handled according to standard IgG storage practice and aliquoted to limit freeze-thaw cycles.
