Factor XIIIa is the catalytically active A subunit of coagulation factor XIII, a transglutaminase that stabilizes fibrin clots by forming ε-(γ-glutamyl) lysine isopeptide cross-links between adjacent fibrin monomers. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against the human Factor XIIIa A chain and validated for Western blot (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF) workflows.

Supplied as 100 µl of polyclonal antiserum, the antibody supports detection of the A chain in cell lysates and fixed tissue sections. Research applications include studies of hemostasis, wound healing, fibrosis, and dermal dendrocyte biology, where Factor XIIIa serves as a marker of activated macrophages and certain fibroblastic cell populations.

The polyclonal format provides recognition of multiple epitopes on the target, increasing tolerance for minor sample variation during blotting and imaging. Researchers investigating platelet-derived Factor XIII, monocyte and macrophage transglutaminase activity, or connective tissue remodeling can apply this reagent to examine protein expression patterns and subcellular localization in fixed tissue specimens.
