This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets human Factor X, a vitamin K-dependent serine protease that sits at the convergence of the intrinsic and extrinsic coagulation pathways. Factor X is synthesized in the liver and circulates as an inactive zymogen that is converted to Factor Xa, where it assembles with Factor Va, calcium ions, and membrane phospholipid to form the prothrombinase complex responsible for converting prothrombin to thrombin.

Investigators apply this reagent to study normal hemostasis and to investigate coagulation-related pathologies including deep vein thrombosis, hemophilia, disseminated intravascular coagulation, liver dysfunction, vitamin K deficiency, and warfarin pharmacology. It is also useful in cardiovascular disease research and in characterizing hepatic cell models where clotting factor expression is measured.

The antibody is raised in rabbit, purified as an unconjugated preparation, and supplied at 100 µl per vial. It is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows, with reactivity confirmed against human samples. The polyclonal format supports robust signal generation across preparations where epitope accessibility may vary.

For handling, the reagent is best stored frozen in working aliquots to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles and should be protected from light when not in use. It is supplied for research use only, supporting both individual investigator projects and larger screening efforts in vascular biology, hematology, and hemostasis laboratories.
