Anti-FABP6 Antibody

This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets human FABP6 (Fatty Acid-Binding Protein 6), also referred to as ileal bile acid-binding protein (I-BABP), a small cytosolic protein of roughly 14 kDa that mediates intracellular shuttling of bile acids, fatty acids, and organic anions in ileal enterocytes. The reagent is raised in rabbit, purified by affinity methods, and supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol to preserve activity during storage at -20 °C; aliquoting is recommended to limit freeze-thaw cycles.

Validated for western blot (WB), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and immunofluorescence (IF) on human samples, the unconjugated IgG gives laboratories flexibility to couple it to HRP, biotin, or fluorophores of their choosing. Because FABP6 expression rises in ileal epithelium under inflammatory and cholestatic conditions, this antibody is widely used in studies of bile acid homeostasis, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis), colorectal carcinogenesis, and enterocyte differentiation.
