This unconjugated polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit and targets the intracellular fatty acid carrier FABP3, a ~15 kDa cytoplasmic protein also known as heart-type fatty-acid-binding protein (H-FABP). It is validated for Western blot (WB), immunohistochemistry (IHC) on fixed tissue sections, and flow cytometry (FC), and is reactive against human and mouse samples. Each vial contains 200 µl of liquid IgG at working concentration ready for standard immunodetection workflows.

FABP3 shuttles long-chain fatty acids between cellular membranes and mitochondrial oxidation sites, and is most strongly expressed in cardiac and skeletal muscle, with additional reports in neuronal tissue and mammary epithelium. Researchers use this antibody to follow fatty acid handling changes during ischemia-reperfusion and metabolic stress, to localize FABP3 within tissue architecture by IHC, and to compare expression across cell models by FC. The unconjugated format leaves the choice of secondary reporter, biotin tag, or fluorophore open, so the same primary lot can feed into chromogenic, fluorescent, or affinity-based detection without re-titration headaches.

Storage: refrigerate on arrival for short-term use; for longer holding, aliquot and freeze, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve activity. Because the reagent is polyclonal IgG, multiple epitopes across the FABP3 sequence are recognized, which helps when working with samples where isoform composition is unknown or when probing conserved regions of the protein. For research use only; not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic application.
