Anti-FABP2 Antibody

Antibodies.com supplies a primary antibody raised in rabbit against intestinal fatty acid-binding protein 2 (FABP2). This unconjugated polyclonal reagent is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) and has been tested for reactivity with Human, Mouse and Rat samples.

The antibody was generated using recombinant full-length Human FABP2 as immunogen and is reported to detect endogenous levels of FABP2 protein. The preparation was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen, with a purity greater than 95% by SDS-PAGE. The target protein has a molecular weight of approximately 15 kDa. The product is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol.

FABP2 belongs to the intracellular fatty acid-binding protein (FABP) family, a multigene family whose members form 14–15 kDa proteins thought to participate in the uptake, intracellular metabolism and/or transport of long-chain fatty acids. Intestinal FABP2 is described as an abundant cytosolic protein in small intestine epithelial cells.
