This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets FABP1 (Fatty Acid Binding Protein 1), a 14 kDa cytoplasmic carrier protein that mediates intracellular trafficking of long-chain fatty acids, bile acids, and related lipophilic ligands. Raised in rabbit and supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, the reagent is unconjugated and validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows. Reactivity spans human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting translational research programs that compare liver, kidney, or intestinal tissue across species.

FABP1, also referred to as liver-type fatty acid-binding protein (L-FABP), is abundantly expressed in hepatocytes and proximal renal tubular cells, and altered levels have been reported in studies of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, drug-induced hepatotoxicity, acute kidney injury, and intestinal inflammation.

The 100 µl pack size accommodates multi-assay experimental plans, including titration across blotting membranes, fixed-tissue sections, and cultured cell monolayers. For stability, the glycerol-containing formulation should be stored at -20 °C in single-use aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles and protect the antibody from proteolytic degradation.

Researchers probing lipid-binding biology, peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor signaling, or organ-specific stress responses can use this reagent to map endogenous FABP1 distribution at the cellular and subcellular level.
