Rabbit polyclonal antiserum raised against Fatty Acid Amide Hydrolase (FAAH), supplied by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated research reagent. FAAH is an integral membrane serine hydrolase that terminates endocannabinoid signaling by hydrolyzing lipid amides such as anandamide into fatty acid and ethanolamine, so the reagent is widely used to map this enzyme across neural, hepatic, adipose, and immune tissues. The antibody reacts with human, mouse, and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows.

Each vial contains 100 µL of antibody at 1 mg/mL, formulated in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. Glycerol-containing antibody formulations are commonly stored at -20 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve activity. The polyclonal format expands epitope coverage across the FAAH protein, which is helpful when probing splice variants, post-translational modification states, or partially degraded lysate preparations. Because the reagent is unconjugated and rabbit-hosted, secondary antibody choice can be tailored to chromogenic, fluorescent, or HRP-based detection platforms.

Typical applications include immunoblotting of cell and tissue lysates to detect endogenous FAAH expression levels and IHC on fixed tissue sections to localize FAAH-positive cells and subcellular compartments. The reagent supports research areas such as FAAH inhibitor pharmacology, pain and neuroinflammation pathways, metabolic regulation, addiction biology, and endocannabinoid tone in disease models.
