Ezrin is a cytoplasmic peripheral membrane protein belonging to the ezrin-radixin-moesin (ERM) family, where it functions as a linker between the actin cytoskeleton and the plasma membrane. It plays roles in cell shape determination, microvilli formation, membrane-protein interactions, and signal transduction pathways that govern adhesion, motility, and morphogenesis in epithelial and immune cell types.

This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against the P475 epitope region of Ezrin and is validated for Western blot detection across human, mouse, and rat samples. The immunoglobulin fraction is supplied at approximately 1 mg/ml in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) containing 15 mM sodium azide as preservative at around pH 7.2, with a working volume of 50 µl per vial. The unconjugated format allows flexibility in secondary reagent selection, supporting downstream detection chemistries such as HRP, fluorophore, or biotin conjugates chosen by the end user.

Because the antibody is polyclonal, it recognizes multiple epitopes on the target, which can be useful when working with lysates where post-translational modifications, splice variation, or partial proteolysis might otherwise compromise signal. Optimal working dilutions vary with sample type, transfer membrane, and detection system, so empirical titration against a positive control lysate is recommended. Store refrigerated at 2 to 8 degrees C for short-term use or aliquot and freeze for longer-term stability; protect from repeated freeze-thaw cycles. The reagent is intended for research use only and has not been validated for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
