Ezrin (phospho-P475) is a post-translationally modified cytoskeletal linker protein belonging to the ERM family, where threonine 475 phosphorylation governs membrane-cytoskeleton anchoring and downstream growth factor signaling cascades. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against the P475 phospho-epitope and supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 15 mM sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2. Validated for western blot, the antibody cross-reacts with human, mouse, and rat Ezrin, enabling comparative studies across model systems and primary cell lines. Researchers commonly deploy this reagent to probe EGF- and HGF-driven cytoskeletal remodeling, and to track phosphorylated Ezrin levels in tumor invasion and metastatic migration assays, where aberrant ERM activation has been linked to breast carcinoma and osteosarcoma progression. The 100 µl vial format provides ample volume for multiple blotting experiments; aliquot upon first use, refrigerate the working stock, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve phospho-specific binding activity. Protect from light during handling, and note that the unconjugated format allows direct conjugation to fluorophores or HRP for downstream immunodetection workflows.
