Exostosin-1 (EXT1) is a type II transmembrane glycosyltransferase localised to the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi compartment, where it polymerises heparan sulfate chains on proteoglycans in partnership with the related enzyme EXT2. Loss-of-function mutations in EXT1 are a well-established cause of hereditary multiple exostoses, a dominantly inherited skeletal disorder characterised by cartilage-capped bony outgrowths.
This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised in Rabbit and supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum, validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC). Reactivity has been confirmed against Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, supporting comparative tissue studies and expression profiling. The polyclonal format enables recognition of multiple epitopes on EXT1, which is particularly useful for IHC where formalin fixation can mask individual binding sites.
For handling, aliquot upon arrival and store at -20 °C; protect from light and limit freeze-thaw cycles to preserve the working titre. Centrifuge briefly before use to recover the full volume.
