Exostosin-1 (EXT1) is a Golgi-resident type II transmembrane glycosyltransferase that catalyzes the polymerization of heparan sulfate chains, a modification essential for cell-surface proteoglycan function in signaling, morphogen gradient formation, and tissue patterning. Loss-of-function mutations in EXT1 cause hereditary multiple exostoses, and altered expression has been reported in several solid tumor contexts, which is why the protein is a frequent target of cell biology and oncology research.

This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody was raised against EXT1 and is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue. The preparation is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a stabilizer, and the package contains 100 µl of antibody liquid, enough for many mini-blots or dozens of IHC slides depending on dilution. The reagent is intended for research use only and detects the endogenous human EXT1 protein, with cross-reactivity confirmed against mouse and rat orthologs.

For best results, store aliquots at -20 degrees C in working volumes to limit freeze-thaw cycles of the stock vial, and avoid prolonged exposure to light. Antibodies.com supplies this reagent with batch-specific validation data so that laboratories can match the antibody to their preferred detection chemistry.
