EWSR1 (Ewing Sarcoma Breakpoint Region 1) is a multifunctional RNA-binding protein encoded on chromosome 22q12 that participates in transcription, RNA processing, and DNA repair, and is best known as the partner gene rearranged in a family of translocation-driven sarcomas, including Ewing sarcoma (EWSR1-FLI1), desmoplastic small round cell tumor, clear cell sarcoma, and extraskeletal myxoid chondrosarcoma.
