The Estrogen Receptor alpha (ERα) is a ligand-activated nuclear receptor that mediates the genomic actions of 17β-estradiol and plays a central role in mammary gland development, reproductive biology, and hormone-driven cancers. Phosphorylation of ERα at serine 167 is a post-translational modification that enhances ligand-independent transcriptional activity and is strongly linked to tumor cell proliferation and endocrine therapy resistance in breast cancer.

This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against the Ab-167 epitope and is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum. It is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence applications on human samples. The polyclonal format allows recognition of multiple epitopes on the phospho-target, which can be useful when assessing activation-state signaling in fixed tissue sections and cultured cell lines.

The unconjugated format provides flexibility for researchers who wish to couple the antibody to their own fluorophores, HRP, or biotin detection systems, and the 100 µl pack size supports multiple staining experiments. For research use only, this reagent is suited to studies of estrogen signaling, phospho-proteomics of nuclear receptors, and investigations of acquired resistance mechanisms in ER-positive disease models.
