Anti-Escherichia coli (E. coli) O157 Antibody

Offered through Antibodies.com, this primary antibody is a mouse monoclonal reagent specifically directed against the lipopolysaccharide "O" antigen of Escherichia coli serotype O157. The clone is purified from mouse ascites by protein A chromatography to ≥90% purity and is supplied as a liquid in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline (pH 7.2) containing 0.1% sodium azide. The reagent is unconjugated, of the IgG3 isotype, and is provided at a 1 mg package size at a concentration of approximately 1 mg/ml (≥1.0 mg/ml). It is validated for ELISA and indirect immunofluorescence assay (IFA) workflows, and is intended for research use only. Reactivity has been confirmed against the O157 serotype, with cross-reactivity noted against Salmonella O30 (hilversum and urbana), while the antibody is non-reactive with E. coli serotypes O111, O125, O20 and O55. Recommended working ranges are 1:20–1:200 for ELISA and 1:10–1:50 for IFA. The recommended sandwich ELISA pairings use this clone in combination with a peroxidase- or FITC-conjugated anti-O157 detection reagent. For stability, the antibody should be kept at +2–8 °C for short-term use; for long-term storage, aliquot and freeze at –20 °C, avoiding repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Shelf life is up to four years from the date of manufacture.
