This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com specifically recognizes the activated form of ERK1/2 when phosphorylated at tyrosine 204, a key regulatory residue within the activation loop of these MAP kinases. Raised in rabbit, the reagent is supplied as 50 µl at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 15 mM sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, ready for direct use in western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows.

The antibody reacts with ERK1 (p44 MAPK) and ERK2 (p42 MAPK) from human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting signal transduction studies across common mammalian model systems. It is unconjugated, allowing flexible pairing with secondary detection reagents such as HRP-labeled, biotinylated, or fluorophore-conjugated antibodies. For storage, keep the vial refrigerated and protected from light to preserve activity; small aliquots are recommended to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Intended for research use only, this phospho-specific reagent is widely applied to investigation of the RAS-RAF-MEK-ERK pathway, cell proliferation, differentiation, and stress responses. The Y204 epitope provides a direct read-out of upstream kinase activation, which is particularly useful when monitoring growth factor or mitogen-stimulated signaling cascades in cell culture and tissue-based assays.
