Anti-ERK1/2 Antibody

Raised in rabbit, this polyclonal antibody recognizes ERK1 (MAPK3) and ERK2 (MAPK1), two closely related serine/threonine kinases that sit at the core of the Ras-Raf-MEK-ERK signal transduction cascade. Supplied by Antibodies.com at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, the reagent is unconjugated and ships as a 100 µl liquid aliquot ready to dilute into standard assay buffers.

The antibody is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence, and it reacts with human, mouse, and rat samples. On western blots, ERK1 and ERK2 resolve as bands near 44 kDa and 42 kDa, making the pair a useful readout for pathway activation as well as a frequent loading reference. Researchers commonly use it to track phosphorylation-dependent shifts after growth factor or stress stimulation.

The polyclonal format increases the likelihood of binding even when a single epitope is occluded by post-translational modification, and the absence of a conjugated reporter leaves the user free to pair the primary with HRP-, fluorophore-, or biotin-labelled secondaries of their choice.
