This rabbit polyclonal primary antibody targets ERK2, the 42 kDa serine/threonine kinase (also called MAPK1 or p42 MAP kinase) at the heart of the canonical MAPK/ERK signaling cascade. Supplied by Antibodies.com as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum, the reagent is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and ELISA workflows, and reacts with human, mouse, and rat samples. It is widely used to study receptor tyrosine kinase signaling, neuronal plasticity, cell-cycle progression, and oncogenic transformation where ERK pathway activity is the experimental readout.

Raised in rabbit and affinity-purified, the antibody detects ERK2 in cell lysates, fixed tissue sections, and cultured cells. Researchers commonly pair it with phospho-specific ERK reagents to compare activation versus total protein levels, or use it alongside upstream markers such as MEK1/2 and RAF1 to trace Ras-Raf-MEK-ERK signal propagation. Because the antibody is unconjugated, secondary antibodies for chromogenic, fluorescent, or HRP-based detection chemistries can be selected to match the assay platform.

For best stability, the 100 µl vial should be stored at -20 °C, ideally in working aliquots to minimize freeze-thaw cycles and preserve titre over time. Each vial supports multiple western blot membranes or a moderate panel of IHC slides depending on dilution. Lot-to-lot reactivity is confirmed against the three listed species, supporting cross-species comparative studies and translational research models.
