Functioning as the catalytic 5' to 3' helicase subunit of the transcription factor IIH (TFIIH) complex, human ERCC2 (also known as XPD) couples nucleotide excision repair to RNA polymerase II transcription initiation, and its dysfunction underlies the DNA repair disorders xeroderma pigmentosum (XP group D), Cockayne syndrome, and trichothiodystrophy. This polyclonal anti-ERCC2 reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit as an unconjugated IgG preparation and supplied at 200 µl per vial for Western blot detection of the endogenous human protein.

Because the antibody is delivered unconjugated, researchers may pair it with their preferred HRP, biotin, or fluorescent secondary reporter when probing whole-cell lysates or fractionated nuclear extracts on a Western blot membrane. The reagent is IgG isotype, polyclonal in clonality, and reactive against human ERCC2, making it suitable for studies of NER pathway activity, TFIIH complex integrity, and the molecular consequences of patient-derived ERCC2 mutations.

For best activity, refrigerate the antibody upon arrival, aliquot on first use to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles, and protect from light if a downstream fluorescent conjugate is selected. Intended for research use only.
