Phospho-specific polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com that selectively recognizes the activated form of receptor tyrosine kinase ERBB2 (HER2/neu) only when tyrosine 1248 in its carboxyl-terminal regulatory tail is phosphorylated. Produced in rabbit as an unconjugated IgG and supplied as 200 µl of liquid in PBS containing 50% glycerol and 0.02% sodium azide, the antibody is affinity-purified against a synthetic phosphopeptide spanning residues around Y1248 of the human receptor, supporting detection of the expected ~185 kDa band in standard immunoblotting workflows.

Validated for Western blot (WB) on human samples, this reagent is commonly applied to lysates from HER2-overexpressing breast carcinoma lines such as SKBR3 and BT-474, where ligand-driven or constitutive activation of the receptor can be tracked over time. It is also used on patient-derived tumor material to monitor HER2 pathway activity, downstream MAPK and PI3K/AKT signaling, and responses to trastuzumab or other targeted interventions. Recommended starting dilutions for WB fall in the 1:500–1:1000 range, and the unconjugated format pairs cleanly with HRP- or fluorophore-labeled secondary detection reagents chosen by the user.

For long-term integrity, store the vial at -20 °C and limit freeze-thaw cycles; the 50% glycerol formulation helps preserve antibody activity through routine handling. Intended for research use only.
