This rabbit polyclonal IgG antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against human ERBB2 (also known as HER2 or neu) and selectively recognizes the receptor only when phosphorylated at tyrosine 1248, a major C-terminal autophosphorylation site that reflects active signaling. Supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated reagent in a single-use vial, the antibody is validated for Western blot detection of endogenous human ERBB2 in cell lysates, resolving full-length receptor at approximately 185 kDa under standard reducing SDS-PAGE conditions.

Because the epitope is a phospho-tyrosine rather than total protein, this reagent distinguishes the activated receptor pool from baseline ERBB2 expression, supporting studies of basal versus ligand-induced or heterodimer-driven HER2 activation, mechanism-of-action work in breast and gastric cancer models, and characterization of resistance to HER2-targeted therapeutics. Affinity purification against the phosphopeptide, with negative selection against the unphosphorylated counterpart, favors specificity for the phosphorylated receptor in Western blot lysates. Intended for research use only; not validated for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.

Recommended handling: store the 100 µl vial frozen at -20 °C in small working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles, keep protected from light during use, and dilute into standard milk- or BSA-blocked buffer for primary incubation on Western blot membranes.
