This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets ERAB (Endoplasmic Reticulum Amyloid-Beta binding protein), a mitochondrial short-chain dehydrogenase/reductase also known as 17β-HSD10 or ABAD. ERAB has been extensively studied for its physical interaction with intracellular amyloid-beta peptide, a connection that links mitochondrial dysfunction to Alzheimer's disease pathology. The reagent also recognizes HSD10 in the context of steroid metabolism, where the enzyme catalyzes oxidation of 17β-hydroxysteroids.

Provided as 100 µl of liquid stock at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant, the antibody is unconjugated, allowing flexibility in downstream labeling. Polyclonal rabbit host reactivity gives broad epitope coverage for detection of endogenous ERAB across human, mouse, and rat samples.

Validated applications include Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence, supporting studies in fixed tissue sections, cultured cells, and lysate-based expression analysis. Researchers investigating mitochondrial metabolism, neurodegeneration, or HSD10-linked disorders use this reagent to probe ERAB abundance, localization, and its co-localization with mitochondrial markers.

Storage should be at -20°C in small aliquots to minimize freeze-thaw cycles, and the glycerol-containing formulation protects activity during routine handling. Protect from light and avoid prolonged room temperature exposure to preserve antibody integrity for repeated experiments.
