Eosinophil peroxidase (EPX) is a heme-containing enzyme stored in the primary granules of eosinophilic leukocytes, where it contributes to host defense against parasites and to tissue injury during allergic inflammation. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com recognizes endogenous EPX and has been validated in Western blot workflows on human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting translational research into asthma, helminth infection, eosinophilic esophagitis, and other eosinophil-driven pathologies.

The antibody is supplied as 100 µl of a 1 mg/ml solution in phosphate buffered saline at approximately pH 7.2, with 15 mM sodium azide included as a preservative. Because the reagent is unconjugated, end users can pair it with HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies for chemiluminescent or fluorescent detection on PVDF or nitrocellulose membranes. For routine use, store the vial refrigerated and protect from light; aliquot before long-term storage at -20 °C to minimize freeze-thaw damage to the polyclonal reagent.

The polyclonal format provides recognition of multiple epitopes on denatured EPX, which can be advantageous when probing reduced and SDS-treated samples on blots, and the unconjugated presentation gives flexibility to match secondary detection chemistries to each experimental system.
