EBNA-1 (Epstein-Barr Virus Nuclear Antigen-1) is the viral protein responsible for maintaining the EBV episome in latently infected B cells and is a widely used marker in herpesvirus research. This Antibodies.com reagent is a goat polyclonal Ig fraction raised against EBNA-1, supplied unconjugated at 500 µl per vial. Researchers apply it in ELISA, immunofluorescence assay (IFA), and Western blot workflows to detect EBNA-1 expression in infected cell lysates, recombinant antigen preparations, and tissue sections relevant to lymphoblastoid cell studies and EBV-associated disease models. The polyclonal format offers broader epitope coverage than monoclonal alternatives, which can be useful when probing for variant EBNA-1 sequences or working with denatured protein on Western blot membranes. Aliquot upon first use and store refrigerated to preserve antibody activity across multiple experiments.
