This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets Epsin 1 (EPN1), an endocytic accessory protein containing an ENTH (Epsin N-terminal homology) domain that binds phosphatidylinositol (4,5)-bisphosphate and promotes membrane curvature during clathrin-mediated endocytosis. The unconjugated reagent is supplied as 100 µl per vial and is validated for Western blot and ELISA workflows across human, mouse, and rat samples.

Epsin 1 functions as a scaffold between ubiquitinated cargo, the clathrin coat, and the lipid bilayer. It coordinates vesicle formation at the plasma membrane and participates in synaptic vesicle recycling, Notch receptor internalization, and growth factor receptor trafficking. Researchers studying receptor endocytosis, synaptic transmission, cargo sorting, or ubiquitin-dependent membrane trafficking pathways commonly use this reagent to probe EPN1 expression in cell lysates and tissue homogenates.

For Western blot, the antibody is applied to membranes in working dilutions prepared in blocking buffer and detected with HRP- or fluorescent-labeled secondary reagents. The polyclonal format recognizes multiple epitopes on Epsin 1, increasing the likelihood of robust detection when a single epitope is masked or modified. Refrigerate the vial upon arrival and keep working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve antibody activity across repeat experiments.
