This polyclonal antibody reagent from Antibodies.com targets Ephrin-A1 (EFNA1), a glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored cell-surface ligand that engages Eph receptor tyrosine kinases, most prominently EphA2. In the published literature, EFNA1 has been characterized for its role in repulsive axon guidance during neural development, tumor angiogenesis, vascular remodeling, and epithelial cell segregation at tissue boundaries.

The reagent is supplied as a 50 µl vial at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant, supporting refrigerated storage and routine bench handling. Validated applications include Western Blot for protein-level detection in cell lysates and Immunohistochemistry for localization studies on fixed tissue sections. The antibody is raised in rabbit, is polyclonal, and is unconjugated, allowing users to pair it with their preferred secondary reagents such as HRP, biotin, or fluorophore conjugates. Cross-reactivity is reported with human, mouse, and rat samples, which makes this reagent useful for translational studies that span rodent disease models and human clinical specimens.

Ephrin-A1 is of particular interest in oncology research, where EFNA1 overexpression has been linked to tumor progression, microvascular remodeling, and metastasis, as well as in developmental neuroscience and studies of cell-sorting behavior. Researchers investigating Eph/ephrin signaling, angiogenic ligand biology, and tumor microenvironment crosstalk commonly use anti-Ephrin-A1 antibodies to map ligand expression patterns and downstream signaling responses in cultured cells and tissue sections.
