The EPB41 protein, also called erythrocyte membrane protein band 4.1, is a key cytoskeletal organizer first characterized in red blood cells, where it stabilizes the spectrin-actin junction and maintains membrane mechanical integrity. Beyond erythropoiesis, EPB41 is expressed in a wide range of tissues and has been studied for its roles in cell adhesion, nuclear architecture, and as a candidate tumor suppressor in several carcinomas, making antibodies against it useful across both basic membrane biology and oncology research workflows.

This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit and supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum suitable for western blot (WB), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and immunofluorescence (IF) applications. The antibody has been validated for reactivity against human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting cross-species studies of band 4.1 isoforms in erythroid precursors, neuronal tissue, and epithelial tumor models.

Suggested uses include probing EPB41 expression and subcellular localization in cultured cells and tissue sections, tracking changes in band 4.1 levels during differentiation or disease progression, and serving as a reference marker in studies of membrane skeletal organization. Store refrigerated and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve performance.
