Enolase 3 (ENO3), the muscle-specific isoform of the glycolytic enolase family, catalyzes the dehydration of 2-phosphoglycerate to phosphoenolpyruvate in striated muscle and is encoded on human chromosome 17. Also known as beta-enolase, this ~47 kDa homodimeric enzyme is predominantly expressed in skeletal and cardiac tissue, where its abundance rises during late myogenic differentiation. Loss-of-function mutations in the ENO3 gene underlie glycogen storage disease type XIII, an inherited metabolic myopathy characterized by exercise intolerance and episodic myoglobinuria, making the protein a focal antigen in studies of muscle metabolism and inherited muscle disorders.

This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against human ENO3 and is supplied as 100 µl of liquid in a single vial, ready for dilution into standard assay buffers. The antibody is validated for Western blot (WB) detection of endogenous enolase 3 in cell and tissue lysates, and for immunohistochemistry (IHC) localization of the antigen in fixed muscle sections. Because the reagent is polyclonal, it recognizes multiple epitopes across the target, an advantage when probing denatured samples for full-length beta-enolase expression.

The antibody is reactive with human samples and is intended for research use only, supporting workflows in muscle biology, exercise physiology, oncology research where ENO3 re-expression has been reported, and biomarker discovery in metabolic myopathies.
