This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit against Endophilin I (SH3GL2), a BAR-domain-containing accessory protein that drives membrane curvature during clathrin-mediated synaptic vesicle endocytosis. The antibody is supplied as 100 µl of a 1 mg/ml solution in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, shipped as a ready-to-use liquid that should be stored refrigerated and protected from light.

Validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry on human, mouse, and rat samples, the reagent is frequently applied to neuroscience projects tracking synaptic vesicle recycling, neuronal endocytic machinery, and SH3GL2 expression in brain tissue. The unconjugated format allows flexible pairing with HRP, fluorescent, or biotin secondary detection systems depending on the experimental design.

Endophilin A1 is also studied outside the synapse: published work has linked altered SH3GL2 levels to neurodegenerative disease pathways, including amyloid precursor protein processing relevant to Alzheimer's research, as well as tumor suppressor activity in certain epithelial cancers. Researchers probing these contexts use the antibody to compare endogenous expression between healthy and diseased tissue by IHC, and to confirm expression changes in cell lysates by western blot.
