This primary antibody from Antibodies.com is a rabbit polyclonal reagent raised against EMILIN1, an extracellular matrix glycoprotein that localizes to elastic fibers and interfaces microfibrils with elastin in connective tissue. The antibody is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated IgG in a single-use vial and is validated for Western blot detection of the human EMILIN1 target. EMILIN1 contributes to vessel-wall homeostasis, modulates TGF-β signaling in dermal and vascular environments, and is studied in research on angiogenesis, hypertension, and tumor-stroma interactions, making this reagent relevant to cardiovascular biology, dermatology, and cancer-related extracellular matrix remodeling. The polyclonal composition targets several epitopes on the EMILIN1 protein, which can be advantageous on immunoblots where a single linear epitope may be disrupted during denaturing gel electrophoresis. Aliquoting upon receipt is recommended to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve binding activity across repeated experiments, and the unconjugated format allows flexible pairing with secondary reagents of the researcher's choice, including HRP-, biotin-, or fluorophore-conjugated anti-rabbit IgGs.
