Anti-ELOVL4 Antibody

This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes ELOVL4, the elongation of very long chain fatty acids protein 4 responsible for catalyzing synthesis of saturated and polyunsaturated C28 to C40 acyl chains. ELOVL4 expression is concentrated in photoreceptor inner segments, meibomian glands, skin epidermis, brain, and testis, where its lipid products serve structural roles in retinal outer segments and the tear film lipid layer. Research applications with this reagent include characterizing ELOVL4 variants linked to Stargardt disease type 3, autosomal dominant macular dystrophy, spinocerebellar ataxia 34, dry eye syndrome, and barrier dysfunction in atopic dermatitis.
