Anti-eLGALS3 Antibody

Raised in rabbit and affinity-purified by epitope-specific chromatography, this polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is directed against eLGALS3, the extracellular isoform of Galectin-3 (also known as LGALS3, GALBP, MAC2 and CBP 35). It is supplied as a 50 µl liquid aliquot at a working concentration of 1.0 mg/mL in a phosphate-buffered saline formulation containing 50% glycerol, 0.05% BSA and 0.02% sodium azide, and is provided unconjugated to allow flexible labelling or direct detection in user-developed assays. The antibody is of the IgG isotype and detects endogenous levels of total eLGALS3/Galectin-3 protein in samples originating from human, mouse and rat, making it suitable for cross-species work in basic and translational research. Validated applications include Western Blotting (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and Immunofluorescence (IF); recommended starting dilutions are WB 1:500–1:2,000 and IHC 1:50–1:200, with ICC/IF generally performed in the 1:50–1:200 range. Specificity is conferred by a synthetic peptide immunogen derived from the human eLGALS3 sequence, and the reagent is affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum using the corresponding epitope. For short-term use the vial should be kept refrigerated at 2–8 °C; for longer storage it should be aliquoted and frozen at –20 °C, avoiding repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
