Anti-Elf-4 Antibody

Rabbit polyclonal antibody to Elf-4, supplied by Antibodies.com, is validated for Western blot (WB) applications and reacts with Human, Mouse and Rat samples. The unconjugated reagent is formulated at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% Sodium Azide and 50% Glycerol.

The antibody was raised against a synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 219-264 of Human Elf-4 and specifically detects endogenous levels of the Elf-4 protein. It was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using the epitope-specific immunogen, with a purity of > 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE. The target protein migrates at approximately 71 kDa.

Elf-4, also referred to as myeloid Elf-1-like factor (ELF4 or MEF), is a 663 amino acid member of the Ets-1 family of transcription factors. These factors share a conserved Ets DNA-binding domain that recognises the consensus sequence 5'-WGGA-3'. Elf-4 localises to the nucleus and is highly expressed in placenta and myeloid leukemia cells, with lower expression in lung, heart, thymus, spleen, colon, ovary and peripheral blood lymphocytes. It acts primarily to activate promoters of hematopoietic growth factor genes such as GM-CSF, IL-3 and IL-8, and has also been shown to activate the Perforin 1 promoter in natural killer (NK) cells.
