This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets ELAVL1, the RNA-binding protein also known as HuR that regulates mRNA stability, AU-rich element recognition, and translational control in response to cellular stress, proliferation signals, and inflammatory cues. Raised in rabbit and supplied as 100 µl at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, the antibody is ready to dilute directly into western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows.

Validation data show reactivity against human, mouse, and rat samples, which supports translational studies that compare ELAVL1 expression across model organisms and patient-derived tissue. Researchers apply this reagent to examine HuR shuttling from nucleus to cytoplasm after stress stimulation, its role in stabilizing oncogenic transcripts in cancers such as colorectal and breast carcinoma, and its contribution to cytokine mRNA turnover in activated immune cells.

For western blot, typical loads of 20–50 µg of whole-cell lysate resolve ELAVL1 as an approximately 36 kDa band, while immunofluorescence on fixed cells highlights predominant nuclear staining that redistributes to the cytoplasm upon treatment with stressors such as hydrogen peroxide or lipopolysaccharide. The unconjugated format allows flexible pairing with HRP, fluorophore, or biotin secondary reagents depending on the chosen detection platform.
