This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes eIF5A2 (eukaryotic translation initiation factor 5A2) at a region centered on tyrosine 127. eIF5A2 is a member of a small family of translation elongation factors that undergo a unique post-translational hypusination modification on a conserved lysine, a modification essential for the protein's function in supporting mRNA translation and nucleocytoplasmic export of specific transcripts. eIF5A2 has attracted considerable interest in cancer biology because its overexpression has been reported in ovarian, hepatocellular, colorectal, and lung carcinomas, where it has been associated with tumor proliferation, invasion, and unfavorable prognosis.

Supplied by Antibodies.com as a 100 µl volume at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, the reagent is unconjugated and validated for immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections. The antibody was raised in rabbit and is reactive with both human and mouse eIF5A2, supporting translational studies and preclinical mouse model work where comparative tissue profiling is required. For best stability, store refrigerated and protect from light.
