This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com recognises eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4 gamma 1 (EIF4G1) when phosphorylated at serine 1232, a modification linked to cap-dependent mRNA translation regulation. Raised in rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated IgG in a 100 µl vial, the reagent supports Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows against human samples.

By binding the phospho-S1232 epitope, the antibody enables researchers to distinguish translationally engaged EIF4G1 from resting pools in cell lysates and formalin-fixed tissue sections. For Western blot, samples are separated by SDS-PAGE, transferred to membranes, and probed with the antibody followed by an HRP-conjugated secondary; for IHC, paraffin-embedded sections are dewaxed, rehydrated, and subjected to citrate-based antigen retrieval before haematoxylin counterstaining. Handling: aliquot upon arrival, freeze at -20°C in working volumes, and limit freeze-thaw cycles to retain phospho-specific binding. The unconjugated format allows flexible pairing with customer-preferred reporter conjugates and detection chemistries.
