Antibodies.com offers a rabbit polyclonal primary antibody raised against EIF4E2, the eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E family member 2 also referred to as 4EHP. EIF4E2 acts as a cap-binding protein that competes with canonical EIF4E for the 5' mRNA cap and has been implicated in translational repression, nonsense-mediated mRNA decay, and microRNA-mediated gene silencing pathways. Investigators working on post-transcriptional control, embryonic patterning, and cap-dependent translation can use this reagent to probe endogenous EIF4E2 levels by Western blot in human, mouse, and rat samples.

Provided as an unconjugated IgG preparation in a 200 µl volume, the antibody is intended for research use only and pairs with standard HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary reagents. Aliquot on arrival and store refrigerated; repeated freeze-thaw cycles of the stock should be avoided to preserve activity across multiple blots.

Because the reagent is polyclonal, it recognises multiple epitopes across the target, which can help recover signal in Western blot experiments where single monoclonal clones may miss cleaved or modified forms of the protein. The unconjugated format leaves laboratories free to choose their own detection chemistry and membrane system, supporting flexible integration into existing workflows.
