Phosphorylation of eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E at serine 209 is catalyzed by MNK1/2 kinases downstream of ERK and p38 MAPK signaling, making this modification a widely used readout of active cap-dependent translation initiation. The rabbit polyclonal reagent offered by Antibodies.com selectively detects this phosphorylated epitope on the human target, supporting western blot analysis of cell lysates, immunohistochemical staining of tissue sections, and immunofluorescence imaging of fixed cells. As an unconjugated IgG preparation supplied in a 50 µl volume, the antibody can be paired with secondary reporters of choice and is suited to studies investigating translational control in oncogenic signaling, growth-factor responses, and cellular stress pathways where elevated phospho-EIF4E has been documented across multiple tumor types.
