Primary antibody reagent for investigating translation initiation control, raised in rabbit and supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2. The polyclonal antibody selectively recognizes eIF4B only when phosphorylated at serine 422, a regulatory modification installed by the RSK and ERK/MAPK pathways downstream of growth factors, mitogens, and insulin signaling. Researchers use this Antibodies.com reagent to monitor cap-dependent translation, characterize oncogenic signaling in cancer cell models where eIF4B overexpression contributes to breast carcinoma and other malignancies, and explore activity-dependent synaptic plasticity in neurons. Validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence on human, mouse, and rat samples. The unconjugated format permits flexible pairing with custom fluorophore, biotin, or enzyme labels. Each vial contains 100 µl of antibody, sufficient for multiple staining or blotting experiments.
