Raised in rabbit and affinity-purified by epitope-specific peptide chromatography, this polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is directed against eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4B (eIF4B) when phosphorylated or otherwise modified around residue 422. The immunogen corresponds to the human sequence T-G-S-E-S (aa. 420–424), and the antibody recognizes the endogenous total eIF4B pool in Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, with a predicted molecular weight of approximately 80 kDa. The preparation is supplied at 1.0 mg/mL in phosphate-buffered saline (pH 7.4) containing 150 mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide, and 50% glycerol, and is presented in a 50 µL volume as an unconjugated, liquid-format antiserum suitable for standard immunodetection workflows. Recommended working dilutions are 1:500–1:1000 for Western blotting and 1:50–1:100 for immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed sections, the two applications validated on the product datasheet. The antibody is shipped at 4 °C and should be aliquoted and frozen at –20 °C upon arrival, with repeated freeze/thaw cycles avoided to preserve binding activity. As a research-use-only reagent, it provides a reliable tool for investigating cap-dependent translation initiation, mRNA recruitment to ribosomes, and the signalling pathways that converge on eIF4B in cancer, neuronal, and stress-response studies.
