Anti-eIF4B (Ab-422) Antibody

Produced in rabbit and raised against eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4B, this polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com detects the Ser422-phosphorylated form of eIF4B, a cofactor that activates the ATP-dependent RNA helicase eIF4A during recruitment of the 43S pre-initiation complex to capped mRNAs. Phosphorylation of eIF4B at Ser422 by mTOR and p70 S6 kinase downstream pathways links cap-dependent translation initiation to growth-factor, nutrient, and stress cues, and is widely used as a readout of mTORC1 activity in oncology and neurobiology research. The antibody is supplied unconjugated in a 100 µl volume and has been validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human, mouse, and rat samples.
