Raised in rabbit against the human eIF3K translation initiation factor subunit, this unconjugated polyclonal primary antibody is supplied by Antibodies.com as a 100 µl liquid aliquot. eIF3K (also called eIF3S12 or p25) is the 25 kDa subunit of the eukaryotic initiation factor 3 complex and participates in cap-dependent translation initiation, while separate studies have shown that it binds the 5′ untranslated region of HIV-1 genomic mRNA and is packaged into nascent virions, making it a useful marker in virology and host-factor research.
