Raised in rabbit against the Eif2ak2 target (Eukaryotic Translation Initiation Factor 2 Alpha Kinase 2), this unconjugated polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is intended for western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human, mouse, and rat samples. Eif2ak2, also known as PKR (Protein Kinase R), is a serine/threonine kinase induced by interferon and activated by double-stranded RNA during viral infection, where it drives translational shutdown by phosphorylating eukaryotic initiation factor 2 alpha.

Laboratories studying innate antiviral immunity, the integrated stress response, apoptosis, and inflammatory signaling use this reagent to probe Eif2ak2 expression and activation across cultured mammalian cells, tissue sections, and whole-cell lysates. The 100 µl volume is supplied as a liquid aliquot that should be stored refrigerated and protected from repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve antibody titer for downstream immunoblotting and chromogenic tissue staining. The polyclonal format enables recognition of multiple epitopes on full-length Eif2ak2 in both denatured lysates and formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections.
