EGLN1, also called PHD2 (prolyl hydroxylase domain protein 2), is the primary cellular oxygen sensor that hydroxylates HIF-alpha subunits under normoxic conditions, committing them to von Hippel-Lindau-mediated ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied as 100 µl and has been validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows. Endogenous EGLN1 is detected in human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting comparative studies of hypoxia signaling, erythropoiesis regulation, tumor angiogenesis, and ischemia-reperfusion injury. Because the target sits at the entry point of the HIF pathway, the antibody is well suited to tracking oxygen-sensing capacity in cell lines, primary tissues, and disease models in which EGLN1 expression or stability is perturbed. The unconjugated format leaves the researcher free to pair the primary reagent with HRP, fluorescent, or biotin secondary detection chemistries matched to the chosen application.
