Phosphorylation of the epidermal growth factor receptor at tyrosine 992 (Y992) is one of several key autophosphorylation events triggered by ligand binding and receptor dimerization, and it contributes to downstream RAS-MAPK signaling. This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com selectively recognizes EGFR only when Y992 is phosphorylated, allowing researchers to monitor activation-state-specific signaling in cell lysates and tissue sections.

The antibody is supplied as 100 µl of IgG at 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. It is unconjugated and validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human samples. Because the epitope is phospho-specific, stimulating cells with EGF or another EGFR agonist prior to lysis increases the Y992 signal, while serum-starved controls typically show little reactivity at this site.

Store the vial at -20 °C in small aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and protect from light. Sodium azide is included as a preservative; observe standard laboratory precautions when handling. This product is for research use only and is not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
