This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets the Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR), a 170 kDa transmembrane receptor tyrosine kinase central to cell proliferation, survival, and differentiation signaling. The antibody was raised against a peptide region surrounding the H672 residue of human EGFR and is supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2.

Validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry (IHC) applications, this unconjugated reagent detects endogenous EGFR in both human and mouse samples, supporting translational research in oncology, receptor signaling, and therapeutic response studies. In Western blot, it labels the mature receptor near its expected molecular weight of approximately 170 kDa, while IHC on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections enables visualization of EGFR expression across normal epithelium and tumor specimens.

The 50 µl vial format provides enough reagent for multiple staining or blotting experiments when diluted according to standard immunodetection protocols. Store refrigerated and protected from light; aliquot upon first thaw to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve antibody activity. The sodium azide at 0.05% serves as a microbial preservative, so the reagent is not recommended for live-cell assays where azide exposure could compromise viability.
